I’ll Come Too by James Blake

“I’m gonna say what I need
If it’s the last thing I do
I do
I do
I do
I’m in that kinda mood
I’ve thrown my hat in the ring
I’ve got nothin’ to lose
With you
With you
With you
I’m in that kinda mood”

She thought he was going to be different
Unlike the rest, he’d listen
Unlike the rest, he’d listen

He was LA, she was New York
She thought he would be different
Better than the rest
She thought they could meet in the center
He would listen and learn the differences between LA and New York
She thought he was going to be different
He’d spread his wings wider than the rest
He’d see her as the best
He’d value the pebbles over gemstones

Remove the icing from the cake
He’d be there for her
He’d want to know her world
Stand by her past
See through the looking glass

“I’ll go under your wing
I’ll slot right in between the
Cracks between you and him
I don’t wanna go home
Shall we drive from zone to zone?
I wouldn’t do this on my own
But I’m not on my own tonight”

She thought he was going to be different
Unlike the rest, he’d listen
Unlike the rest, he’d listen

He flew to New York when LA was flooded
He brought clipped wings sensitive than the rest
He couldn’t see her among the crowd
The city noise was too loud and distracting
He didn’t know how to value the best
He’d forgotten that a pebble weighed over a handful of gemstones

Remove the icing, fork the cake
With each mouthful he forgets to ask about her
How was her day, how was New York?
He only thought about the flood in LA
And the stuff he may have forgotten

“Oh, you’re goin’ to New York?
I’m goin’ there
Why don’t I come with you?
Oh, you’ve changed to L.A.?
I’m goin’ there, I can go there too
I’m gonna say what I need
If it’s the last thing I do
I do
I do
I do
I’m in that kinda mood”

He was there, but not for her
He’d forgotten he told her he wanted to know her
To stand by her past
To see through the looking glass
She thought they could meet in the center
They could listen and learn the differences between LA and New York
She thought they were going to be different
That they’d spread their wings wider than the rest

She thought he was going to be different
Unlike the rest, he’d listen
Unlike the rest, he’d listen

She took the red-eye out of New York.
