Trying to find a silver lining
The lines were drawn, and the result was not a huge surprise. It was educated/earnest America versus the self-entitled and deluded. Who do you figure won? Yup! The latter — and that presidential candidate who was beloved by white men without a college degree.
Which makes sense given that the guy they supported told his base the Continental Army shut down the airports during the Revolutionary War, thought that Cornwallis was “of” Yorktown and not “at” Yorktown, and suggested that injecting bleach into a human bloodstream might end the Covid crisis.
Let’s get real. Harris, the alternative to voting an ignoramus into office, was no prize herself. A little too giggly and not all that brilliant. (In an interview with Norah O’Donnell, we learned that she didn’t know the particulars of Roe v. Wade. Not good when you’re a lawyer.) Plus, she failed the California bar on the first try.
I’ve known a few people who could comfortably boast of her “low IQ” compared to theirs. But Donald Trump is hardly one of them.
But I’m off the point already.
