You probably missed this bit of news since the verdict for convicted felon Trump understandably dominated the headlines.

However, around the same time Trump was convicted, the Texas GOP happened to be holding their state party convention.

A few days later, the Texas Education Commissioner unveiled a new curriculum for public schools. This “classical education” curriculum includes selections from the Bible to expand “vocabulary.” It is intended to improve the horrendous reading test scores of Texas kids; only 23% of 8th grade students in Texas performed at or above NAEP proficient level in reading.

A GOP convention (oh boy), new teaching materials for public schools (ohhh boy), and this is Texas, home to Lucifer-Look-a-Like Ted Cruz, so what could go wrong? (Ohhhh Jesus! I mean Jeepers!)
