How is it that the home of the brave
Is losing progress wave after wave?
We elected a racist.
A rapist.
Giving a second chance
For theocracy to be enhanced.
How did we get here?
Don’t you fear
The sweeping change?
A new America, disengaged.
Our apathy has won.
We can’t comprehend the harm done.
But this nation’s foundation
Is built on misogyny and forced migration.
Centuries of oppression
Without power to question.
It’s just the way things are, you see.
But it doesn’t have to be
The place where Blacks lose their lives on mere suspicion
And whites are spared in part because of their religion
The patriarchy reigns
While the feminist movement is deemed insane.
Where men in power push women into holes
