So, everyone is aware of how the United States is preparing for a sea change in its national and international policies. I wrote a reactionary piece shortly after the elections, sharing 5 somewhat prophetic descriptions of what life might look like starting in 2025. This new administration is probably the biggest crapshoot the planet has seen since Die Offnung der Mauer in Berlin and the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
It is not unusual for an incoming president’s party to have control of both houses of Congress as well. But it rarely lasts past the first mid-term elections. However, what my wife and I are seeing with this new administration is how they are setting up a coordinated plan, well before taking office, which (whether it is successful or not) will have significant impact on our day-to-day life, especially for the finances of our middle- and lower-class citizens even before the mid-term elections in 2026.
