Imagine It’s a sunny afternoon, and you are walking down the street, possibly going to a friend’s place or finding a restaurant for your late-day brunch.

Suddenly, you come across a pretty girl, or perhaps a familiar face, walking across the same street, a couple of yards away from you. They raise their hand with a smile on their faces and wave towards you. Your face lights up with joy, and you happily wave back.

However, in a few seconds, you come to the grim realization that the other person isn’t waving at you but is waving towards someone else behind you💀💀.

Existential Horror:

The first 0.5 seconds of realization are the worst. Public humiliation, self-deprecation, insecurity, plus an array of other negative emotions hit you. You quickly try to play the hand wave off by either scratching your head or faking a cough. But deep down, you know, everyone—literally Everyone saw that. You say to yourself, “Why the hell am I so cringe?”.

This feeling of second-hand embarrassment is unmatched and leaves you wondering: Why did I not see that coming? I don’t know or barely know that person; why on earth would they wave at me with such a joyous smile on their face?

It’s not that deep bro:

The borderline is that these types of things happen to people every day. There is no need to lament over such funny and harmless mistakes. These moments actually make us who we are, and for that, we just might have to keep repeating these fun mistakes.

I know that these things seem embarrassing at the moment, but I hope that one day we can look back at these moments and laugh at how cringe-worthy we were.
