Kamala’s New Running Mate Has Jokes to Go With His Charm
Vice President Kamala Harris announced her running mate for the 2024 presidential election yesterday. Tim Walz, a former school teacher, four-term congressman, and current governor of Minnesota is her choice. And oh boy, what a choice he is. The dude is an intelligent, caring former military man, and an overall good fella.
And he’s bringing the jokes. As a humor writer, I dig this so much.
Like many Democratic Americans, I was anticipating who Kamala would choose for her running mate. Though I adore Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, I wondered if some Americans would be ready for a gay vice president. I realize that liberal folks on my side of the political spectrum would welcome him with open arms.
But the GOP voters who are sick of Trump’s bullshit may not. Sadly, Ms. Harris was probably advised against choosing Pete.
She made a stellar choice by choosing Tim Walz. Walz comes across as a Dad/Grandpa type that people can relate to. And I’m not talking about the mean-spirited, deviant, handsy type like Donald Trump. He’s the furthest thing from what Trump is all about.
