Tips for Living in Mexico: Embrace The Culture

Some people travel purely to get away from their jobs and hectic lives. They may spend a week taking a well-deserved break on a beach. I don’t blame them. But traveling or residing in an unfamiliar place is about learning and exploring. We all know what Mark Twain said about travel (or at least we should): “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.”
And travel can make us more compassionate, understanding, and possibly even more interesting.
Be Prepared for Something Different
You can travel to different regions of the United States and find vast differences in the way of life. So, of course, you should expect some major variances if you’re vacationing in Mexico or staying for a while.
- Food — In Puerto Vallarta, I can get cuisine from just about anywhere in the world anytime I desire. But some of the local offerings that improve my cholesterol and overall health include fresh fish, delicious fresh fruit like pineapple…
