It Brings Me No Joy to Say This, But I’m Worried
I woke up this morning in a bit of a fog. After the events of yesterday, I drank a little more vino than I normally would. Part of that came from spending five hours making Dad’s Spaghetti, my house special. My Bride and kids love it.
As I shook off the cobwebs and checked my email upon waking, I noticed 35 of them, more than double the usual overnight amount. People here on Medium and Substack were going crazy commenting on the new article I wrote last night.
Oh yeah, damn it. Trump was almost assassinated. I’d briefly forgotten that.
Sadly, his fan base won’t soon forget it. MAGA is now more likely to come out en masse this November. They probably already were. But when their favorite cult figure is almost assassinated and hustles off pumping his fist while yelling, “FIGHT!”, of course, it’s going to play on their emotions.
People were already worried about President Biden’s mental acuity. And not only the Republicans who oppose him. I’m talking about people on the Democratic side.
