Shereen Bingham threw out the 10-word Valentine’s Day story challenge, and I’m here to meet that challenge. This time, it’s ten 10-word stories that tell one tale.
- Paper and lace valentine cut to perfection, signed in red ink.
- She tucked the tiny heart into his valentine box, hoping.
- The bell rings: one red rose, a box of chocolates.
- Red high heels, a swirling skirt; he holds her close.
- A walk to the door, hesitant moves, and tentative kisses.
- The telephone rings and her heart leaps, anticipating his voice.
- Down on one knee, asking the question, she says yes!
- His feet may be frozen, but his heart is true.
- She helps their eldest child cut lace and paper hearts.
- The elderly couple holds hands as they walk and remember.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
