Writing Challenge — Prompt
We CANNOT Go Back
We can’t go back to another Trump reign of American Carnage
CHALLENGE: We won’t go back. Jason Provencio and my fellow Bouncin’ and Behavin’ writers, please share your own posts about how the Trump years were for you. Remind Americans what it was like for the marginalized and at risk under the MAGA regime.
It Was NEVER About Politics — It’s About Betrayal
I woke every morning fearful of “his” next lunatic decree. How might it threaten my little family? We’d already declared bankruptcy in 2009 because of my healthcare costs before there was an ACA — and that regime wanted (still wants) to take the ACA away from us.
Tweet by tweet, decree by decree… his threats hit closer to my family. His travel ban finally got through. Even the minor limits on it were lifted. Hamid’s niece with MS canceled plans to try to come to seek treatment. In response to that success, Trump tweeted the ban didn’t go far enough.
He went after DACA recipients, opening them to deportation. Trump pardoned Arpaio, who said his tent prisons were concentration camps. Then, he went after the temporary protected status immigrants still under threat (like El Salvadoran and Somali refugees).
