What Lies Ahead for George Santos?

Imagine that you have just been sentenced to 87 months in prison by the judge presiding over your case. What’s going through your mind? It would be hard to fathom the emotional reactions any human being would have facing that real life nightmare.
That’s exactly what disgraced ex-congressman George Santos is suffering right now. His Dishonorable Disgrace to Democracy actually sobbed in the courtroom after hearing where he’ll be spending the next nearly 7 years of his life. Boo-hoo, George. I’m not shedding any tears for you.
I’ve been in the Santos shoes (though I was only facing a year and a day for my crime) and know exactly what lies ahead.
Like Santos, I was ordered to self-surrender to prison at a later date. I was not carted off to prison immediately. White collar offenders are generally afforded a period of time to get their affairs in order before they serve their time.
George has until the 25th of July to prepare before he’ll report to his designated facility. For me, the two months between my sentencing and self-surrender dates might have been the two worst months of my life.
