This is How You Remind Me of What I Really Am

Chad Kroeger, lead singer of the best-selling band Nickelback and I are both writers. I write op-ed articles dealing with controversial topics regarding politics, religion, and whatever else strikes my fancy. Chad writes hit songs for the band he’s spent half his life in as the frontman.

We both catch our fair share of shit for doing what we love. Haters gonna hate, any time you’re in the public eye and have a large following. Though I have nowhere near the following and fandom of Nickelback, I am a popular writer on both writing platforms I publish on.

Medium and Substack have their fair share of mouthy, rude users who enjoy telling you that you’re the worst person since Hitler when they disagree with what you write. I’ve been called some pretty shitty things in the two and a half years I’ve been a writer. It’s enough to really hurt your feelings if you don’t have thick skin.

Fortunately, I’m built like a Kevlar vest. Angry, ignorant comments about my writing do not affect me. I’m bulletproof and there’s a reason.
