So, this year has been a bit rough. I had a cold in January and required surgery in March, followed by another cold in May and another at the end of June. As a result, I’ve been more of a couch potato rather than working out.

And since I’m considered a senior citizen (although, in my mind, I’m middle-aged), I need to get back to a fitness routine. So what to do?

I’m aware that any sort of physical activity outperforms sitting on the couch, especially if I want to appear younger. Apparently, specific exercises are more beneficial than others.

Mayo Clinic researchers discovered how to organize your workouts so that you can turn back the clock as much as possible in the shortest amount of time.

The Mayo team examined three different workout routines for men and women under 30 and over 65. After 12 weeks, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) outperformed lighter cycling and lifting or strength training alone regarding anti-aging benefits.
