You may have seen the news recently.

An Arizona man took a self-driving taxi to the airport. No human driver.

All seemed fine until the driverless car reached the drop-off point. We all know airport drop-offs and pickups can be discombobulated. So, when the taxi arrived, the car got confused and drove in circles over and over, threatening to make the man miss his flight.

This got me thinking.

It’s become commonplace now that any time I shine a light on or even discuss a race-related issue, people come out in droves to complain that the reason we’re still dealing with race is because of people like me.

That people talking about race are perpetuating racism.

STFU!

If you’d just stop talking about it, we’d be fine, they say.

The most recent comment about my talking about race highlights this approach.
