Hi, I’m Delaney — Pisces, INFP-T, I’m an overachiever — HI.
I have always been into art and writing. When I was little, my mother would buy me those drawing-course-in-boxes from the drugstore. This was back in the 70s. From there I learned art and creative writing in school.
When I hit Junior High and High School, my teachers started sending my writings off to National Contests. I had 2 problems with this. First, they didn’t tell me until after they handed back the assignments to explain why they didn’t have mine. Second, I didn’t write for the contest. I had written to meet a homework assignment. I never got higher than an Honorable Mention. I always felt that if I had been able to prepare correctly, to write for the contest, I could have done better. But because of the Honorable Mentions, I never felt good enough to be a professional writer, so I never considered it.
I spent High School in, what was back then, Above Average classes. Because of this, I was able to choose if I wanted to study a particular area. I ended up “majoring” in science and math. In 8th grade, I had my first chemistry class and fell in LOVE. The first 5 minutes of day one I planned my whole life! I was going to college and get a Ph.D. in Chemistry. Then I was going to…
