How to Build Resilience with a Smarter Creative Ecosystem
And why it’s absurd to go “All-In” on any one platform like TikTok
You’ve probably seen the news this week. A potential TikTok ban in the U.S. has creators panicking.
Social media is lit up with rants about “lost revenues” and dramatic declarations:
- “I deserve more!”
- “I demand answers!”
- “I’m taking my pen and leaving!”
On Medium, writers stomp their proverbial feet, angry over algorithm changes and declining earnings.
Performative exits are everywhere, followed by loud proclamations:
- “I’m going all in on Substack!”
- “Substack is where I’ll build my empire!”
It’s hard not to roll one’s eyes at the irony.
Here’s a plain, hard reality: Platforms change. They always do.
- Have you seen the uproar in recent weeks over Facebook tweaking its reach rules?
- Or Twitter changing ownership and morphing into X?
- What about Vine, MySpace, or Tumblr? Each of these platforms once dominated — and then faded.
