In October, we announced a major update to our developer documentation and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and since then we’ve been looking forward to be able to bring the same site to our Japanese developers.
Since October, we’ve had a preview of the API reference documentation available in Japanese and while the feedback we received was that this was a massive step forward compared we immediately got the request to complete the translation of all the other content.
With the introduction of the new Japanese site we now have all the same features available for the Japanese market.
- More content, better content, easier to find: Now, even Japanese developers can find any content they need, whether that be reference documentation or guides on how to make requests with code samples. In the last months we’ve actually grown the number of Japanese guides from about 120 to over 300.
- The same single source of truth, translated: The Japanese site is build off the same OpenAPI v3 specifications and Markdown files as the English content, automatically translated.
- Automated translation: All content is automatically tokenized and translated by our in-house internationalization team and our translation vendors. This means that any content we create from now on will be available to the Japanese market after a short translation period.
- Interactive documentation: Test simple API calls to Box right from within the developer documentation without using any third-party tool, or try out our new integrated Postman collection Quick Start guide, also available in Japanese!
