New Editable Shared Links API

We recently released a new permissions option for shared links —can edit! In addition to releasing this feature in the Box Web App, developers can also create or update editable shared links for files using the API.

Our Box SDK libraries will be updated in the coming months. Until then — you can find a cURL example in the permissions section of our developer documentation.

Currently, can_edit can only be true for items with a type of file . Also, if you Box primary administrator has changed your enterprise’s content sharing settings to not allow editable shared links, you will not be able to use the feature.

We hope you enjoy this enhancement, and please feel free to reach out to us on the developer forum for support, or via Box Pulse to make suggestions on how to improve the feature.
