5 things that moved us at Nonprofit Technology Conference

This year’s Nonprofit Technology Network’s NTC (Nonprofit Technology Conference) brought 2300 .org technologists to New Orleans last week. It was three packed days of content centered around amplifying Good. The Box.org team put on our comfy shoes and cloud suit and set out ready to network, share and learn.

Here are 5 of the key take-aways that moved us:

1. The family feel is all around. Beginning with the first morning’s keynote, the sense of shared mission and inclusion emanated throughout the building. The explicit call out to the gender neutral bathrooms and code of conduct as part of the main programing felt like a warm hug.

2. Constant collaboration is necessary. Not only did we share the stage with Chantal Forster, Executive Director of Technology Affinity Group, and Arianne Shaffer, Co-Founder and Director of Indie Philanthropy Group, we shared meeting notes to prove it.

3. The vendor love is real. We spent 3 days next to friends that Box|Box.org adores, friends like Twilio.org who spent their first ever NTC in a booth near us and are a vital member of ImpactCloud. We’re proud to partner with them on important, ever-growing cloud initiatives. Who knows, they may even have matching cloud blazers next year. TechSoup, Docusign, Microsoft, Round Corner, Presence and many many other great vendor friends made the week extra fun.

4. The secret sauce is the people. It’s the people that make NTC fun and festive. Where else can you come together for good and simultaneously sponsor (and emcee) a ping pong tournament, brunch alongside a jazz band (twice), or play poster child (and sponsor) for the headshot booth. All of this done around a common spirit of wanting to do more Good.

5. Box and Box.org is transforming organizations. The hundreds of conversations we had with nonprofits exploring or already using Box on a donated or discounted basis filled our gas tanks to the brim. Knowing that Box is helping nonprofits with their programs, resourcing, operational efficiencies and security refuels us to keep expanding our work.

Whether you were there or not, we’d love to continue the conversation. Please visit us at Box.org (reach out via the “contact us” if needed) and our online community. As a quick reminder we donate the first 10 starter licenses and heavily discount beyond that. Here is a deeper dive into our offerings.

If you are a current Box customer, we recommend you check out our expansive and free Box University courses to ensure that you and your organization get the most out of Box to meet your missions. We’d also love to share stories about how Box has helped your organization. Please reach out if you’re interested in sharing your Box success story and driving some new supporters to your brand!

For current or exploring Box users, we invite you to join us at our large customer event in San Francisco called BoxWorks this year, August 29–30! There will be an application form coming soon. In the meantime, send us a note through our “contact us” form to express your interest.

We’re excited to keep enabling the fulfillment of our partner’s missions. Vive Good!
