Three new ways to gain visibility into the content you care about

We’re continuously focused on building the best experience for our users, which is why we’ve recently launched three major updates to the Box Web Application that we are extremely excited about.

Find your favorite content with our newly enhanced sidebar

Recently, we have spent a lot of time trying to understand how we can better enable you to access the content you care about. What we heard was that as you collaborate on more projects, it is hard to easily keep tabs on the progress of your work across multiple folders. Based on your feedback, we’re excited to introduce a refreshed, simpler navigation sidebar that includes all of your favorite files and folders.

You’ll now see your favorite files and folders directly in your navigation sidebar. Don’t have any favorites yet? Simply drag any file or folder into the sidebar to mark it as a favorite.

Get a quick glance of recent activity on files

We announced Presence in Box Notes last year in an effort to enable teams to work better together. We wanted to offer that same powerful functionality across our Web Application, which is why we’re introducing similar functionality for all file types in Box. Ever wondered if anyone’s worked on a file recently? Now you’re able to quickly see who’s been recently active in a file right from the file’s preview page.

See (and export) all-time file usage history

Need to view a file’s all-time history? We have you covered there, too. We’ve recently updated the Access Stats feature to provide an all-time view of all the activity on a file — whether someone previewed, edited, commented, or downloaded a file.

But we didn’t stop there. Based on your feedback we know some of you need to do even more analysis on a file’s activity — whether it’s analysis on a marketing campaign asset or doing a full audit on a file’s activity — so we are also giving you the ability to export these Access Stats.
