We’re bringing Box into your Gmail experience
We spend more time than ever collaborating, and email is where a lot of our work happens. At Box, we aim to make it as seamless as possible for users to get their work done in their favorite applications. This is why we’ve partnered with Google to bring the Box experience into the Gmail interface, with Box for Gmail! We previewed this integration at Google Cloud NEXT, and are excited to announce that it’s generally available.
Further extending our partnership with Google, Box for Gmail leverages the new Gmail add-on framework introduced last year, enabling users to attach Box files and download email attachments to Box, from within Gmail. By creating a frictionless experience, Box for Gmail saves users valuable time and ensures critical content remains secure in Box.
With Box for Gmail, users can:
- Save emails and attachments to Box: Download the contents of an email, and email attachments, directly to Box without leaving the Gmail interface
- Add Box files to emails: Keep your content securely managed in Box by attaching a Box file shared link to any email without leaving the Gmail interface
- Easy permissions management: Manage the permissions of a shared Box file directly from Gmail to ensure content can always be accessible by the right people
- Robust security: Apply Box’s enterprise-grade security, compliance and governance capabilities to your email attachments
- Simple setup: Install Box for Gmail with just a few clicks and get started right away
