Butterfly Protocol + Polygon

Ethereum gas fees have been a huge problem this year for those who use the network on a daily or weekly basis. With the rise in demand and the boom in Defi, the number of daily transactions on the network has skyrocketed leading to a similar increase in gas fees. It is common to see gas fees over $100 for a Uniswap trade and over 30$ for a simple interaction with the network. In time the gas fees on Ethereum will improve; however, it does not look like this will happen in the near future.

For a project that is meant to be used by everyone, like Butterfly Protocol, this just doesn’t work. An important tool in scaling Ethereum is using offloading some traffic to other chains. As the crypto space grows we are becoming a network of connected blockchains.

It is no secret we have been working on bringing cross-chain support to Butterfly Protocol and we are happy to announce Butterly Protocol powered domains will be available on Polygon this Friday!

But wait there’s more! BFLY is live on Polygon now!

To kick things off we have a whole week of announcements planned leading up to an airdrop of domain names on Polygon (details below).

Starting right now $BFLY can now be traded on Sushiswap using the Polygon network. $BFLY can be transferred to Polygon using the Polygon Bridge where Butterfly holders will be able to enjoy really low fees when executing any trades or sending them from one wallet to another.

This is all brand new so some information is still being updated to include the contract on Polygon but is all in progress. The more holders we have on Polygon the faster it will go :-)

Did you say airdrop?!

To celebrate we are creating a special .hmn (human) TLD(top level domain) and starting Friday with you can get your very own .hmn (human) NFT domain on Polygon, for free! We will even cover the gas! Of course there are limits and requirements, but they are very simple. To participate you just need to tweet about the airdrop, include your wallet address, and you will get <your twitter handle>.hmn dropped in your wallet. We will even provide a page to help format the tweet.

What if you want .hmn but don’t like your twitter handle or don’t have twitter? After the promotion ends we will open .hmn domains up to be bought using the bridged $BFLY tokens.

Our amazing partners Cortex, StackOS, and PolyPunks all wanted to join in the fun too and will be providing special bonuses to go along with the .hmn airdrop! Details about each will be released over the next couple days.

Why Polygon?

Polygon is an Ethereum Proof-of-stake scaling solution. Its interoperability with Ethereum, decentralization, and dev-friendly ecosystem and tools make Polygon the perfect solution for all of Eth’s issues. Its growing popularity and recognition have also been key for this decision and as you will see this week, this chain will play a very important role in Butterfly’s future.

TL;DR;

  • Friday Butterfly Protocol powered domains go live on Polygon.
  • Today $BFLY is available through the Polygon bridge.
  • Claim your <twitter handle>.hmn domain for free starting Friday.
  • Daily announcements and more surprise bonuses all week!
