Manhattan, NY- New York Fashion Week Fashion Gives Back was held on Monday, February 10th, 2020 at Pier 59 in Manhattan, NY. NYFW: Fashion Gives Back was hosted by BON CHANCE management. It was designed to create a collaborative platform for high-end fashion designers to gain access to resources in order to support their brands. It’s a platform to amplify voices, creative minds, and inspiration and to bring visions to reality. New York Fashion Week is a semi-annual series of events generated around 7–9 days when high-end fashion collections are shown to the press, the public eye, and buyers. New York is one of the four major cities that celebrates fashion week. At this event, you witness the designers showcasing their pieces to the public. The diversity and creativity during the event kept the audience engaged.

To kick off NYFW: Fashion Gives Back, Afro-Latina Love & Hip Hop: Miami star Amara La Negra opened the show with a strut down the runway in custom made jean jacket and all-black jumpsuit with a slit down the middle of her top. This event had designers such as Anthony Rubio, Dovilė, K.Ducasse, Noni, Keama and Taylor Uchytil promoted their work at this event. These designers opened opportunities for many upcoming models at this event. For most models, this was their first NYFW event. Models were walking down with style, grace, attitude and most importantly confidence. “It was a great experience! I mean I was so nervous but I got to meet so many designers and other models, it made me feel like a fake celebrity… I definitely made sure I structure down the runway with 6-inch heels with confidence.” Natalia said. To spice up the fashion show not only were the models showcasing for their designers, but this fashion event also had dogs dressed up, showcasing their work as well. Yorkshire Terrier Chihuahua, Pomeranian, and Japanese Chin were dressed up in mini outfits to show off dogs can dress to impress.

This year you witness a lot more African-American designers incorporating African culture with their work. Aso oke fabric, Kente cloth, and Kanga were the fabric pieces the designers used. These pieces are extremely expensive especially if you’re looking for good quality. The models promoted chic, sexy, casual, sophisticated, vintage fashion styles. Fashion style was for many young stylists, fashion lovers looking for casual, elegant, business, classy looks. Both male and female clothing was presented at this event. From the ball gown dress down to the pair of boxers for men. The show displayed clothing for all seasons, Fall, Winter, Summer, Spring. You get a look at the warmest fur coat to the bikini ever. When it buckled down to the designers presenting themselves at the end of each brand, the designers didn’t want to take all the credit for their work, they instead brought out most of their models with them so to show it takes a team to build greatness. Two to three of the designers walked down the runway with their models therefore both can receive recognition. Allowing the public to NYFW: Fashion Give Back gave more people access to witness the work from Anthony Rubio, Noni, Keama, Taylor Uchytil.
