Eight NBA Players That DEFINITELY Believe in Ghosts
Finally, it’s October!
October is the most elite month because it is where the Venn diagram of ‘Start of NBA Season’ circle overlaps with the ‘Slasher Films, Ghost Hunting Shows, and Halloween’ circle. Those of us who watch the NBA and dabble in the occult (i.e. ‘watch Ghost Adventures’) are often forced to keep our paranormal beliefs to ourselves on social media, because ghosts are allegedly “unrelated” to basketball.
Well, guess what? Some of your favorite basketball players are believers in the occult! In fact, many of them turn to social media to seek out haunted houses and scary movies, or to voice their appreciation for the paranormal.
- Terry Rozier
Terry Rozier is the Zak Bagans of the NBA without the Affliction T-shirt or hair gel.
His nickname (Scary Terry) combined with his love of the Scream mask, haunted houses/prisons, and scary movies propels him to the top of the list. Also, Boston is one of the most haunted cities in America, and he loves it there. Coincidence? I’ll let you decide.
2. DeAndre Jordan
DeAndre Jordan went to a haunted house just minutes before Halloween, 2011 and to see Paranormal Activity 2 just minutes AFTER Halloween, 2012. Anyone who takes Halloween as seriously as DeAndre deserves to be on this prestigious list.
3–4. DeMarcus ‘Boogie’ Cousins and Anthony Davis
I had to include these two together based on a video of them going to a haunted house together in 2017, when they played on the New Orleans Pelicans together. As you can see, Anthony Davis nearly shits his pants from this …Zombie? Vampire? I’m not sure who this guy in face paint is, but I don’t blame AD for losing his shit. Meanwhile, Boogie looks cool as a cucumber, but you can tell that he’s a little scared because he’s hiding behind Anthony Davis, and when does Boogie hide behind anyone?
5. Kevin Love
Instead of a quick Google search, Kevin Love enlisted Twitter to help him find a haunted house in New York City on Halloween, 2011. If I could go back in time, I would tell him that Madison Square Garden is the most haunted house in NYC because of all the tormented souls of players and fans murdered by James Dolan
6–7. Harrison Barnes and Spencer Dinwiddie
Adding these two on the list *might* be a stretch, but why would these two tweet ‘ghost’ if they didn’t believe in them?? People don’t just tweet things they don’t really believe in. I don’t go around tweeting ‘New York Knicks Will Go To The Finals!!!’ (Oh wait…Yeah, I do!)
8. Jerami Grant
I would add Jerami Grant’s mom to this list, but she’s not an NBA player, so Jerami Grant gets to represent her here. He gets props for accompanying her to the haunted house and being a good son, but she seems to be a true believer.
That wraps up my extensive investigation of paranormal investigators and believers in the NBA. However, my DMs are open to more anecdotal evidence that an NBA player not listed here believes in ghosts.
~HAPPY HALLOWEEN~
