DepthCam + Apple Pencil
DepthCam adds iPad and Apple Pencil support
DepthCam for iOS has been updated for full iPad and Apple Pencil support. Now you can load your Portrait Mode photos and edit the depth maps with precision using your Apple Pencil.
Depth Map Editing
Editing depth data is easier now with the new grayscale Depth Mode, along with Mask Mode.
Depth Mode
Depth Mode displays the depth map as a grayscale image with in-focus areas brighter and out of focus areas darker. Technically this is a disparity map but is the same depth information and easier to work with shades of gray.
Grayscale is useful for seeing multiple levels of depth as opposed to a foreground and background mask.
There’s also a new Picker tool so you can pick a depth level then brush with that level.
Using the Apple Pencil is nice for brushing in detail.
When using the Auto wand tool, you can set the depth level that will fill an area.
Mask Mode
Mask Mode is the default mode with the green overlay representing a mask. This is useful for portraits where you want a clean foreground and background.
Of course, DepthCam on the iPad brings all of the visualizations of the iPhone version, but on a bigger screen!
