My first query rejection didn’t hurt so bad.

For the past month, the universe has guided me toward starting yet another writing project. I know, I know! I have about fifteen projects that are unfinished and waiting for my undivided attention and creativity. After spending many hours and days of reflection, it was inevitable I would write about my life at some point.

Life has been so much fun! There is a little sarcasm behind that, but when summing up how life has treated me so far, I am thankful beyond measure. I have enjoyed so much during my lifetime. From learning from past mistakes to accepting new challenges during my darkest hours to the wonderful blessings I continue to receive, I am grateful.

Committed to the writing cause for the past two weeks, I was making manuscript edits, creating a book pitch, finalizing the synopsis, and adding the finishing touches to a kick-ass book proposal. I received my first query rejection response today. Motion to obtain literary representation from ABCD1234 Publishing Co (not a real agency)…denied!

My response wasn’t what I expected. I thought I would roll around and have a tantrum, cry like a baby, or be dramatic and fling my body against the wall, laying my head in my arms in despair. None of that happened, unfortunately.
