Everyone Has a Layover Flight Before Reaching Their Final Destination
Never consider the path you are on a waste of time.
It has taken me 24 years to realize that I am destined for greatness. I am not famous, I don’t have a Wikipedia profile…yet, but I am working towards something profound. I see the end results.
When I considered serving and bartending, I saw the job as a temporary placeholder until I decided on what I really wanted to do with my life. I hadn’t considered that I would spend over 20 years setting up banquets, training new employees, and making everyone’s dining experience worthwhile.
It’s because of the hospitality industry that I am forever grateful for the job that I have now.
We find ourselves in jobs a lot longer than we have anticipated and we often get complacent or discouraged. We transition to autopilot, doing the same routine practically in our sleep because we are used to it.
Whatever our original plans were have now changed. We’ve lost focus. Any goals or sights for anything better are now on the backburner.
How many times have we had a lengthy layover and had to wait a considerable amount of time until the connecting flight? How long was the layover? One hour?
