10 Ideas to Make BTS McDonald’s Meal better
BTS Mcdonald’s Meal has taken the world by storm. The hype is real.
Being a long time Kpop fan, I can’t help but think McDonald’s are just taking the fans for a ride. Taking advantage of the fandom to create more sales, simply because there’s nothing fantastic or thoughtful about the collaboration, other than the purple packaging (that was not even available in the US ).
While many marketers would feel that Mcdonalds x BTS was a successful campaign if you based it on the metric of sales and media exposure, I don’t think it was.
Though I don’t see myself as an ARMY, I think most people would feel disappointed.
Because it’s just simply a nuggets meal in different packaging and not so fantastic ‘limited’ edition sauce. This feels similar to the 2020 Grammys (#scammys) where the Grammys are using BTS just for ratings. (put one image that says, seriously what’s so special about this)
Looking at Mcdonald’s previous nicer collaboration such as Minions and Hello Kitty. Mcdonald’s can surely do way better and put in more effort especially with BTS.
So here are 10 ideas that I would spend money on as a Kpop fan:
- Butter themed Mcdonalds Menu and Merch(to tie into BTS new song)

2. Purple Menu
Since the packaging is purple, how about everything purple menu.
3. A Truely Korean themed menu — gochujang, kimchi inspired recipe
4. BTS Experience — like what KFC Genshin Impact did in China, Mcdonalds can create a BTS Mcdonalds Takeover by sticking BTS all over their windows, create cut out boards and please also play BTS music all day long.
5. BTS Photocards
6. BTS Tiny Tan or Line Characters as Mcdonald’s Happy meal toys
7. BTS Themed food
8. Sell Mcdonald’s BTS Crew T-shirt
9. BTS Designed Items to be available as a top up when you get a meal
10. Lucky draw mechanics, perhaps the chance to go to Korea? or a Live Twtich session with BTS?
