A Brand Guide for Citizn Company

and what I learned along the way…

Citizn Company builds tools to help people and businesses understand contracts.

The problem? To develop a recognizable, cohesive brand that appeals to two different target markets. Those target markets include Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Consumer (B2C). Another goal: to develop a certification mark for the brand.

DESIGN PRINCIPLES

    We have a new outlook on Terms & Conditions. We evaluate, breakdown, and report the information you need to know.
  3. Trustworthy
    We always have your back no matter what. You can count on us to protect you.

THE LOGO

For Citizn Company’s logo, we started with a circle. Symbolism of the circle in our culture is inexhaustible. Looking back into history, circles have been used by Buddhist, Celtic culture and even Native American traditions, for thousands of years. The circle relates back to Citizn Company for its strong sense of unity, inclusivity, wholeness, and strength. Regardless of the audience, there is the sense of ONENESS. One mission, one goal.

The center of the circle is empty, reminding us to be open to future possibilities and growth. It’s also the protective boundary from unwanted terms and conditions. This represents a unified agreement and a safe space.

The slice in the circle represent two parts, Citizn Company and the people. Also, Citizn Company has you covered.

Once rotated, you can see the C, for Citizn Company and the I, which ultimately kind of looks like a little person if you tilt your head just right. Bringing us full circle. Citizn Company.

The primary logo.

The Citizn Company logo is used on their office space, website and marketing materials. The Citizn Company logo is the most recognizable asset of the Citizn Company brand, working at both large and small scales.

Citizn Company’s primary logo is a word mark that has an inviting yet strong vibe. This is the main logo that will be used across primary brand applications. It helps the audience easily identify Citizn Company.

The primary logo can also be used in different colorways.

The clear space is the “safe space” around the logo. This ensures that the logo maximizes visibility and impact.

The clear space is determined by the “O” in “COMPANY.”

It is essential to the success of the brand that the logo always be applied with care and respect in every application according to these guidelines.

Citizn Company’s secondary logos can be used in replace of the primary logo, but should never be used simultaneously.

C. minimum size — 20x20 pixels; this size is appropriate for a browser extension

How Citizn Company’s Chrome extension would appear.

Citizn Company has a Chrome plug-in available for its users. Once downloaded, it will run in the background of each site visited, reading through Terms & Conditions and Cookie information, keeping the user secure at all times.

Unacceptable usage of the logo includes:

  • Do not rotate.
  • Do not squash or stretch.
  • Do not place elements in the logo clear space.
  • Do not resize any part of the logo.
  • Do not rearrange parts or create compositions that are not already provided.

CERTIFICATION MARK

Citizn Company has a certification mark that will be present on other sites, letting the user know that those outside sites have approved Terms & Conditions by Citizn Company. We got you covered.

LETTERHEAD

Citizn Company will have a letterhead to use internally to send out to clients.

THE HOMEPAGE

This is how Citizn Company will appear in an address bar. And this is a start of Citizn Company’s homepage.

This project has definitely progressed in the last couple weeks. It was fun to work on a brand I was unfamiliar with at first. It was a great learning experience.
