This feature allows users to activate their own challenge and engage others to join with just a click of a button.

Mobile consumption has jumped dramatically during this COVID-19 pandemic. Our daily device usage went up by 20% compared to last year, with an average spent of 4–5 hours per day. People are glued to their smartphones and social media as they are stuck at home. As a result, all social media platforms have managed to engage, innovate, and win over the masses. Each of them tries to make the most fun, engaging, and easily-generated content to become a perfect entertainment source during the lockdown period.

TikTok’s latest popularity, for example, has brought an evolution in how users engage with all social media platforms. “Challenge” and “Collaboration” are our new culture nowadays.

Facebook too, might not want to be left behind. A new “Challenge” feature has just been introduced to the platform lately. It allows users to create a new challenge by posting a hashtag with the word “challenge” in the end. The creators then can nominate up to 50 members by tagging them to the post. Others who were not nominated can also join by clicking the “Try It” button below the creator’s post. The feature only works in Facebook mobile app format, which means you can create or see the “Try It” button if browsing through the website version.

First appeared as a BETA version on Android devices, now this feature is launched officially and available in both Android and IOS devices.
