Brandgram offers numerous features to build, host, and manage conversational and interactive pages. This tutorial will help you with some of the basics of Brandgram TV. You’ll learn how to ask your user a question, then respond depending on the answer.

If you don’t already have a free Brandgram TV account, get yours now.

Let’s say you promote music events. You want feedback from event goers to help improve your service. You can create a page in Brandgram that will ask your customers to rate the event and give feedback.

Create a page

First, you’ll need to decide what channel you want your page to be in. In Brandgram, a channel is a profile and container for your pages. Every Brandgram user gets their own My Channel, which is based on the users name and only they have control of the channel. Brandgram also has shared channels. Shared channels allow you to define who has access to manage, view responses and view the pages in the channel. This is great feature for teams, brands and businesses.

  1. Sign into Brandgram. Open the channel for the new page.
    Click + New Page.
  2. Give your page a descriptive Name and Description.
  3. Set your page privacy settings. Private pages can only be viewed by you and channel members. Unlisted pages can only be viewed by people with the URL. Public pages can be viewed by anyone.
  4. Click Create to continue.

At this point, you’ll see a blank page, and nothing else. To interact with users, your page needs blocks.

Add Blocks to Page

In Brandgram, blocks are the foundation of your page. You can add, move, and combine blocks on a page to create a custom layout and experience. Each block is designed to add different types of content and logic to your page.

Add a Rating Block

A rating block allows the viewer to rate your question out of a certain amount of symbols. For example, 3 out of 5 stars.

For this example, we’ll add a 5 star rating question.

  1. Click the rating block from the blocks list.
  2. Enter the question in the Question setting.
  3. Turn the Required setting to on.
  4. Click Save.

Add a Hidden Text Block

A hidden text block is used to store text that can be used in proceeding blocks. The hidden text value can also be set based on conditions.

In this tutorial we will set the hidden text value conditionally based on the answer from the previous rating block.

  1. Click the hidden text block from the blocks list.
  2. Give the block a title.
  3. Set the hidden text to conditional.
  4. Set the hidden text values based on your conditions.
  5. Click Save.

Add a Long Answer Block

A long answer block allows the viewer to enter a lot of text in response to your question.

In this example we will use the value from the previous hidden text block as the question for the long answer block.

  1. Click the Long Answer block from the blocks list.
  2. On the question setting select the + icon to bring up the previous blocks and select the hidden text block. This will automatically work out what the question needs to be.
  3. Click Save.

Add a Submit Button Block

The submit button block allows the viewers response to be saved.

  1. Turn Save responses on.
  2. Click the Submit Button block from the blocks list.
  3. Set the Save response as setting.
  4. Set the Submit button text.
  5. Click Save.

Add a Thank You Screen Block

A thank you screen block allows you to show the viewer a thank you page when they submit a response.

In this example, we’ll display a thank you for you feedback message and social share icons.

  1. Click the Thank You Screen block from the blocks list.
  2. Set the Text setting.
  3. Turn Share icons on.

Design Your Page

In Brandgram, the design of your page is what makes your page stand out from the crowd. In the design tab you can add background images and set the colors for the content on your page.

Configure Your Page

To make your pages look good in search results and on social media platforms, on the configure tab set a thumbnail image for your page.

Test Your Finished Page

Now that your page is done, you can interact with it and test by clicking on the preview button.

Your basic page is done. You can use more features in Brandgram to build on your page. You can view the completed page for this tutorial here.
