Time of day conditions can be used in any conditional setting. For example, show only if block conditions, conditional hidden text blocks and conditional regex validation on short answer blocks.

Using Time of Day Conditions with Hidden Text Blocks

Hidden text blocks are great for working out what needs to be said to the viewer before displaying the content to the viewer. For this example we’ll add a hidden text block to the page and display different greeting based on the viewers time of day.

Here’s how to set this up in Brandgram:

  1. Create a page
  2. Add a hidden text block to your page.
  3. Give the hidden text block a title. E.g. Time of day Greeting.
  4. Select the Conditional tab under the Hidden Text section.
  5. Type Good morning in the hidden text textbox.
  6. On the if condition select the Time of Day option.
  7. Set the condition box to is.
  8. Set the condition value to the morning.
  9. Click the + button to add another condition.
  10. Repeat steps 5 to 8 for the afternoon and the evening greetings.
  11. Save the Hidden Text block.
  12. Add a block to display the conditional greeting. For example, add a headline block. In the headline text editor, click the plus button and select the conditional hidden text block you created.

That’s it! You now have a greeting that changes based on the time the viewer is on the page.

Conclusion

In this tutorial, you’ve learned how to use Time of Day conditions to give your pages a more conversational touch.
