About Me

My name is Brandon Lemmon and I am currently a student at Utah Valley University studying Interaction Design. I am originally from Las Vegas, Nevada and have lived in Utah for the last 6 years. My wife and I met in High School and have been married for 6 years. We moved up here so that she could continue her education at BYU. We currently don’t have any children but we do have one little puppy named Fritz that we adopted 4 years ago. While working a full time job and going to school I don’t tend to have too much free time. When I’m not snuggling on the couch with my puppy doing homework, you can find me in the kitchen making pizza. As the self proclaimed pizza king of Utah I spend a lot of time involving myself with pizza. I eat, sleep, and breathe pizza.
Education
I started my college experience while attending the College of Southern Nevada the summer immediately after High School. When I started, I had no idea what path I wanted to take and what I wanted to study. I started working on my general classes right away since I knew that was something that would at least get me a little further down the path. I started out taking classes on campus and eventually moved towards online classes while living up here. When I was finally able to get state residency, I applied to UVU. Unlike many college students, I didn’t initially know what I wanted to do when I registered for classes. After a little bit of searching, I stumbled upon the Web Design & Development program. Ive always enjoyed the idea of being able to create websites but didn’t know if that was something I actually wanted to pursue. Not sure on what I REALLY wanted to do, I started taking classes. It wasn’t until a few semesters in that I chose the Interaction Design path. During the summer of 2018, I was able to get an Associates degree in General Studies.
Work
For the last 6 years, I’ve been working at a company called ModusLink. ModusLink is a supply chain management company that handles everything from customer service to fulfillment for companies all over the world. My team specifically handles the call center work for a company called HERE Technologies. I started out as a normal call center agent and have slowly worked my way up to a team lead, and then a supervisor. I spend the majority of my day managing a team that fluctuates between 30–60 agents. This job has not only taught me valuable customer service skills but also how to be a leader. I’ve learned how to communicate effectively not only with the agents that I supervise but also with the client themselves. This job allows me the opportunity to communicate with the client on a regular basis to help ensure that we meet agreed upon goals and provide them with valuable information to help improve their products and support.
Goals
My immediate goals are to graduate with a Bachelors degree in Web Design & Development with an emphasis in Interaction Design. Since I work full time, I haven’t been able to follow the typical full time college student routine. This has led to a prolonged college student experience. Once accepted into the program, I hope to quickly complete the necessary classes to finally become a first-generation college graduate.
Upon graduation, I would love to work for a small company that really appreciates each and every employee. My current work experience has helped me realize that I don’t want to work for large companies forever. Ideally, I would be able to marry my love for pizza and Interaction Design
