Fiona Jane X LRD — The Exit

Beautiful sounds on the new EP from vocalist Fiona Jane, as she teams up with Brapp favourite LRD, for The Exit. The two met on Brapp, where LRD has been making a lot of noise for the past couple of years. As with a lot of other artists on the network, they decided to collaborate beyond the app itself and the result is five perfectly crafted songs, all drenched in emotion.

For me there are definite echoes of Lamb’s earlier stuff, although Fiona’s voice is a lot less haunting than Lou Rhodes’s vocals. Also Portishead would be another obvious comparison, especially as Fiona’s track, Liar, contains lots of elements from the Bristol band’s classic, Numb.
