June 18 2018, the EU Blockchain Forum announced on Twitter that they’re hosting an “Ask Me Anything” live stream where the public can directly interact and raise questions about all things #blockchain going on in Europe. Follow the thread at https://twitter.com/EUBlockchain and interact with the hashtag #AMABlockchain

As a blockchain-tech startup, that’s awesome news for us at Bravuz HireMatchand we’re thrilled to know that the European Union is taking such an active approach to fueling the innovation of blockchain in the European Union.

Here’s some more insights about this initiative. The EU Blockchain Forum are calling themselves an Observatory and Forum — an initiative of the European Commission. Their mission is,

“to promote blockchain in Europe by mapping existing blockchain initiatives, analyzing and reporting on important blockchain themes, promoting blockchain education and knowledge sharing and holding events to promote debate and discussion.”

Their website is a great resource for community based events around Europe, a great online community where people can directly communicate with each other around the topics of blockchain and cryptocurrency, and finally an interactive map that shows on-going blockchain projects from all over Europe to which we’ll be adding our Bravuz HireMatch project in Portugal.

A key supporter of this initiative has been Eva Kaili — a Member of the European Parliament, elected in 2014.In her capacity as the Chair of the European Parliament’s Science and Technology Options Assessment body (STOA) she has, been working intensively on promoting innovation as a driving force of the establishment of the European Digital Single Market.

What do you think? Do we need more initiatives like this to educate the public around the latest developments in blockchain? Who should be responsible for sharing the knowledge base around this technology — governments? developers? entrepreneurs? Let us know your thoughts.
