Chase Your Dreams

As we age, the majority of us lose the resolve we once held for chasing our dreams. Remember the blissful innocuous days of our childhood when we truly believed in our endeavors, and vowed silently to ourselves to do whatever it took to achieve them. Unfortunately as we grow older, we distance ourselves from our dreams, so that they don’t disrupt our current needs and wants in life, nonetheless, what never changes or falters is our desire to attain them.

You can still see it can’t you? Looking up into the night, gazing at the stars. That one embellished light that’s more prominent than the others. That’s where your dreams lie. They should scare you, you should be intimidated yet excited by them, and they should leave you contemplating whether they are actually achievable. How often have you said to yourself “I’ll start tomorrow” or “It’s not the right time yet”. Procrastination breeds indecisiveness. You can’t afford to wager your dreams with the cruel mistress of time, her cold condescending touch impeding your every movement. The majority of people around you are subjected to this same abuse, but they are either too afraid or too accustomed to break away from this cycle. Yet, they will never lose that resolve to dream.

“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars”

The necessary channels for reaching that beacon is out there. You must simply have the mental fortitude and diligent work ethic to follow through on that path on a consistent basis. Obstacles and challenges are bound to arise, but they are signs that you’re heading in the right direction. So use them as motivation to work harder. Because when it comes down to it, we all know deep down that the only thing preventing us from realising our dreams is looking straight back at us in the mirror.

And that’s the beauty of it all.

We must remain resolute and steadfast in the face of any adversities that may attempt to prevent us from fulfilling our ambitions. For it is at precisely these moments that we must show our unwavering tenacity. The only thing worse than not achieving your dreams, is not even attempting to pursue them.

I hope this short article in some way motivates you to continue chasing your dreams. And as always if this post resonated with you in any way or you just want to voice your opinions, drop a comment below and share your thoughts.
