Breaker for Android now in beta
We’re thrilled to announce that the Breaker for Android app is now in public beta! Go ahead and give it a spin!
Breaker is a unique podcast app combining the best features of a social network with those of a podcast player, making it easier than ever to navigate and interact with the vast sea of podcast content to find the best material. We think it’s the future of podcasting, and we’re excited to bring it to Android users everywhere.
Core features
Whether you’re new to podcasts or listen every day, Breaker delivers a new and engaging experience. The Breaker for Android app offers the same core features as the iOS app, including the ability to:
- Follow your friends to see what they’re listening to.
- Like, share, and comment on your favorite episodes.
- Discover what’s trending today, this week, or this month.
- Create a profile with your favorite podcasts and playlists.
- Share on Twitter and Facebook.
Like episodes
Did you love the episode you just heard? Simply tap the heart icon to like the episode. Your likes feed our discovery engine for other users, so you’re helping other people find great episodes too.
Comment on a timestamp
You can comment on a particular time in the episode by tapping the comment button while the episode is currently playing. You can also reply to other people’s comments and share your thoughts on Facebook and Twitter.
Follow friends
A feature that makes Breaker really unique is the ability to follow your friends and find out what they’re listening to and liking. We recommend following your friends from Facebook and Twitter but you can also follow the hosts and guests of your favorite podcasts. Check out the Activity tab to see what your friends have been listening to lately!
Import subscriptions
Curious to try Breaker, but don’t want to re-subscribe to all your favorite shows? Use our guided Import / Export feature to quickly make the switch.

In addition to containing all the features which come standard to most podcast apps such as offline storage of episodes, automatic downloading of new content, and deep integration with the Android media system, Breaker also boasts the following:
- Skip Silences: Turn this feature on from the Settings screen to automatically skip through silences during playback.
- Sleep timer: Like listening to podcast before bed? Set the sleep timer and playback will stop after a set amount of time.
- Coming soon: Chromecast and Android Auto support!
Bug reporting
Because this is a beta, you may find bugs! Please report all bug you encounter to us by navigating to Profile → ⚙️ → Enable Bug Reporting Via Screenshot. Once enabled, any time you take a screenshot in the app (typically by pressing Volume Down + Power), it will prompt you to send a bug report. You can also report bugs manually using the same interface.
