Podcasters frequently ask, “How do I get featured on Breaker?” We decide which content to feature using an editorial process that involves humans, so there is no precise formula, but there are a handful things you can do to increase your chances of being featured on Breaker.

Use our badges

We’ve created some great badges for podcasters to use on their websites to link back to Breaker. Please use one of these badges and display it prominently on your website. We are unlikely to feature your content if your website doesn’t link to Breaker.

Claim credit for your podcast

We love featuring hosts who are active members of the Breaker community. Step 1 is to sign-up for a Breaker account. Then navigate to your podcast’s page on the Breaker website, tap the “Claim podcast” button, and follow the instructions to claim the podcast as your own.

Tap the “Claim podcast” button to credit yourself as the host

This will make it easier for your audience to find and follow you and will make your podcast appear on your Breaker profile. You will also get access to advanced audience analytics that are only available from Breaker.

Finally, be sure to download and sign-in to the Breaker mobile app, so you can receive notifications anytime someone follows you, subscribes to your show, or comments on an episode.

Mention Breaker on the pod

At the beginning/end of your podcast, tell your audience to “Listen on Breaker and like and comment on this episode.” The more users who listen, like, and comment, the higher you’ll rank our our daily/weekly/monthly chart of top episodes, which will help you acquire an even larger audience. And once you’re credited as a host, you can receive notifications in the app every time a listener comments on one of your episodes. I’d encourage you to engage your audience and reply to the relevant comments, even if it’s just to say “thanks”. If you’re credited, you’ll be identified as the “Host” of the show next to all of your comments, so your listeners will know it’s you.

Tag Breaker in your social media posts

When you post to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, be sure to include links to Breaker and tag us so we can like and amplify your post.

Episodes, not shows

The Breaker app is all about discovering great new content — something users can actually listen to right away. As such, we don’t feature entire podcasts, but individual episodes of podcasts. When asking to be featured, please don’t ask for us to feature your show, please suggest a specific episode that you think our listeners will love.

Send it to us in advance

We never feature episodes before we’ve add a chance to listen to them. If you’d like us to feature a specific piece of content on the same day that it’s released, please send it to us at least 48 hours in advance, so we have an opportunity to review it and consider it to be featured.

If you follow all of these steps, it’s much more likely that your episode will be featured on Breaker.

Be sure to follow Breaker on Twitter and subscribe to this blog for more updates for podcasters.
