UPDATE

We’re excited to share that Breaker apps and services will not be shut down on January 15th, as previously announced.

Instead, Los Angeles-based Maple Media, a company that owns a portfolio of top mobile app businesses, will take over operations of Breaker’s apps. Maple Media also owns and operates Player FM, one of the largest independent podcast apps on the App Store and Google Play.

Leah and I are overjoyed that we will be able to continue to use the Breaker products that we worked so hard to build and that so many users love. We and the rest of the Breaker team will still be joining Twitter, as previously announced. All future updates, management and support of Breaker products and services will be made by Maple Media.

Today we’re excited to announce that the Breaker team is joining Twitter! Leah and I have long been enthusiastic users of Twitter, and we’re now looking forward to helping create new experiences for the Twitter community.

Here at Breaker, we’re truly passionate about audio communication and we’re inspired by the ways Twitter is facilitating public conversations for people around the world. We’re impressed by the entrepreneurial spirit at Twitter and enthusiastic about the new experiences that the team is creating.

Thank you

It’s been a fantastic journey building Breaker. We’d like to thank all of our friends and family as well as our investors for believing in us. A huge thank you to our Breaker users — you’ve been an amazing community. Thank you for your support.

We believe podcasting has a bright future, and we were grateful to have the opportunity to play a small part in it.

Sincerely,
The Breaker Team
