Yesterday morning at Sardi’s, Tony Award-winner Cherry Jones and Denis O’Hare announced the nominees for the 2015 Drama League Awards. Samuel French is thrilled to represent over seven of the nominated titles, rounding out in more than 15 nominations.

What marks the Drama League Awards as unique is their combining Broadway and Off-Broadway productions in the same categories, thus allowing more nominations in each category than most awards. The five categories are: Outstanding Production of a Play, Outstanding Production of a Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Revival of a Musical and the Distinguished Performance Award.

Samuel French congratulates all of the nominated productions, especially Samuel French titles: Bootycandy by Robert O’Hara; The Elephant Man by Bernard Pomerance; Skylight by David Hare; You Can’t Take It With You by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman; The Iceman Cometh by Eugene O’Neill; On the Twentieth Century by Cy Coleman, Adolph Green, and Betty Comden; and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Simon Stephens and Mark Haddon.

In addition to the nominees, the Drama League previously announced the 2015 recipients for Distinguished Contributions and Achievements in the Theatre: Joel Grey will receive the Distinguished Achievement in Musical Theater Award; WNET: Neal Shapiro and David Horn will receive the Unique Contribution to the Theater Award for “their vital work in bringing New York theater to viewers across America”; and Stephen Daldry will receive The Founders Award for Excellence in Directing.

The 81st Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony and Luncheon will be held at the Marriott Marquis Times Square in the Broadway Ballroom on Friday, May 15, 2015. For a full list of nominees, please visit their website.
