The Keen Company, a Drama Desk and Obie Award-winning organization, announced yesterday the writers for this year’s Keen Playwrights Lab and Keen Teens program.

The Keen Playwrights Lab will develop the new work of Brooke Berman, Kate Moira Ryan, and Kenny Finkle. Readings of these new plays will be announced. During the lab, three American playwrights will come together to develop their new work, ultimately working to expose it to a larger audience.

Meanwhile, Keen Teens has announced it’s 2015 line-up. Keen Teens is a unique educational program that aims to improve the quality of plays written for high school students by commissioning scripts from esteemed professional writers. This year’s season will offer Old Folks by Max Posner, The Astonishing and Dangerous History of Mazefield the Frog by Jen Silverman, and The Lost Girl, or First Chair by Lauren Yee.

Keen Teens performances will be April 25–27 at The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row. Auditions will be held January 13–15. For more information or to schedule an audition, please email keenteens@keencompany.org. The Keen Teen plays will then be published and licensed by Samuel French.
