Working at one of the fastest-growing and innovative fintech companies in the world presents a lot of opportunities for personal growth. It’s the kind of growth that constantly pushes you to scale at hyperspeed personally and extend the boundaries of your impact. At Brex, we believe in growing sustainably and providing a once-in-a-lifetime career opportunity to all our employees!

We founded the EngyWomen organization in 2019 to help foster an inclusive work environment, provide unique opportunities for women to grow, create a social sense of belonging, improve the recruitment process, and bring more women into technology. The EngyWomen group comprises women across engineering and other technical roles within Brex.

We are a close-knit group that works collectively to enable Brex and support one another. We are building a strong community of women and allies to share knowledge, provide access to leadership & mentorship, attract and retain top talent. We host monthly events ranging from professional development to fun social activities. Some of our past events include leadership boot camps, terrarium-making, pottery classes, and more recently, zoom get-togethers! We are eagerly waiting for the lockdown to lift and for things to be back up safely, since next up on our list is a Krav Maga class!

In 2019, Brex sent a delegation of 12 representatives to attend the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computer Science. Despite being a smaller company compared to a lot of the corporations at the event, we made a strong presence and garnered a lot of interest from women in varying stages of their careers. Our booth attracted over 2000 visitors, while we interviewed and made some offers on the spot.

We also hosted an event in Brex’s own Oval Room to discuss defining success in our careers. We invited some of the best women engineers in the Bay Area and had breakout conversations about influence & decision-making, recognition, and changing company culture. Among the speakers were Brex’s own software engineers, engineering managers, directors, and VP of Engineering. Even though most of us met for the first time, we shared personal experiences and walked away with actionable plans.
