This month’s board meeting is scheduled one hour earlier, at 5pm, to accommodate the High School Band and Vocal Concert at 7pm. Because we are discussing a pending real estate transaction, and this requires a 30 day notice, the second part of the meeting is starting precisely at 6pm.

Monday’s Tentative Agenda

Notable Items and Discussion

  • We will hear a report from students on the Vetran’s day celebration. This is a fantastic school and community event which honors those who have served our country. It is a great example of Project Based Learning (PBL) and a treat to hear from students!
  • I will be presenting a proposal to record the school board meetings. The board may take action, voting yes or no on this plan.
  • We will have a public hearing on the proposed cell phone tower to be built at the Intermediate School. This is a proposed 30-year lease on a 20x35' space west of the track. The district would receive $600 per month, with a 10% rent increase every 5 years (totalling around $324,000 over 30 years, for scale our annual budget is around $16M). It would be a simple pole, rising 120 feet with a small series of antennas positioned at the top. Please come to the meeting if you thoughts on this proposal, as the board may take action on this item.
