Full slate today with a lot of attractive pitching and hitting targets!

Pitchers

My favorite pairing on the slate looks like Jacob deGrom and Michael Wacha.

Jacob deGrom — $11,700 @ Nationals

deGrom goes up against the Nationals who have been struggling since Bryce Harper went down and have a 58 wRC+ in the last 14 days. deGrom is sporting a 2.86 xFIP over the last 30 days and a 30% strikeout rate. I’m hoping the Nationals success this year will scare owners off him and he’ll go under owned.

Michael Wacha — $7,400 vs Rays

The Rays offense has also been struggling of late with a 82 wRC+ in the last 14 days and a team strikeout rate of 24%. Wacha has put up back-to-back duds, which should lead to low ownership but also exposes us to some risk that something isn’t right. He’s been awesome at home outside of his last start and has put up 25.1 (vs ARI), 25.4 (vs NYM), 32.5 (vs WAS), and 21.9 DK Points(vs MIL) in his 4 prior starts. His price took a huge hit and I’m buying in.

If you’re looking for another cheap option, I would go with Julio Teheran ($6,600 vs COL). He shutdown the Rockies in Coors just two starts ago putting up 27.6 DK points and gets them in a more pitcher-friendly environment this time around.

Hitters

Love left-handed hitters for Pittsburgh today. Stephenson giving up a .381 wOBA and 40.5% Hard contact rate since 2016 against lefties. Bell and Jaso have the added bonus of previous success against Stephenson. Playing at a hitter-friendly park and all price tags are reasonable:

  • Josh Bell ($4,300) — 1B
  • Adam Frazier ($3,500) — 2B
  • John Jaso ($3,100) — 1B/OF

Lefties for Oakland against Nick Martinez looks like another favorable spot. Martinez with a .395 wOBA and 34.9 Hard% since 2016 and a 9.5 run O/U tonight in Oakland:

  • Bruce Maxwell ($2,100) — C
  • Matt Olson ($3,400) — 1B
  • Matt Joyce ($4,200) — OF
  • Jed Lowrie ($4,000) — SS

RHH Dodger hitters against Chase Anderson looks to be a good spot tonight. Anderson with a .359 wOBA and 37.5 Hard% against RHH since 2016. Anderson is in just his second start after an extended absence and could be vulnerable against a potent Dodgers offense:

  • Justin Turner ($4,400) — 3B
  • Chris Taylor ($4,300) — 2B/OF

A few other one-offs that look to be in good spots this evening:

  • Eric Hosmer ($4,900) — 1B vs Ryan Merritt — Merritt sporting a .357 wOBA against LHH and Hosmer hitting well recently
  • Asdrubal Cabrera ($3,300) — SS vs A.J. Cole — Cole with a .373 wOBA against LHH and Cabrera hitting atop the Mets lineup for almost no cost.
  • Marwin Gonzalez ($3,500) — OF vs Parker Bridwell — Bridwell struggles against LHH and Marwin’s numbers have been way better from the left side (162 wRC+ vs RHP and 107 wRC+ vs LHP)
