MLB DFS Picks — 8/28
Pitchers
I’m fading Kluber and Severino tonight. The prices have become prohibitive and with them going toe-to-toe supported by strong offenses, I’d rather save money for bats. So here’s who I’m rolling with in my lineups:
Mike Montgomery — Threw a gem in his return to the Cubs rotation and he’ll be auditioning for a full-time spot down the stretch. I like the high likelihood of a W and a below-average Pittsburgh offense.
Drew Pomeranz — I like Stroman in this spot as well, but I’ll take Pomeranz against the weaker offense and the better BvP data to boot.
Jose Urena — A GPP flier. Washington’s offense has been abysmal since Harper’s injury, and I think there’s a high ceiling for Urena tonight. Playing Urena will also free up cap space to load up on SEA/BAL/DET/COL bats.
Hitters
Zimmermann in Coors looks to be the best spot on the slate. LHH have a .352 wOBA and RHH have a .366 wOBA against Zimmermann since 2016. My favorite plays from Colorado:
Nolan Arenado vs Jordan Zimmermann
Charlie Blackmon vs Jordan Zimmermann
Gerardo Parra vs Jordan Zimmermann
RHH have owned Pruitt with a .405 wOBA and 39.2 Hard contact rate. Favorite Royals against Pruitt:
Lorenzo Cain vs Austin Pruitt
Salvador Perez vs Austin Pruitt
Some other one-off plays:
Denard Span vs Jhoulys Chacin
Joe Panik vs Jhoulys Chacin
Marcus Semien vs Andrew Heaney
