“I Rise”

“Still, I Rise” — Maya Angelou

Photo by Pablo Heimplatz on Unsplash

Still, I rise
Before sunrise
Looking to make a way
Out of no way
Like my grandmother
Has been doing her whole life
Look in my eyes
Can you see the pain
How many demons have I slain
The King still reigns
Caffeine became my cocaine
While Xanax became my codeine

This is just a place for me to publish anything from LGBTQ issues to poetry and short fiction. Enjoy!
