Bribe is pleased to announce the completion of an audit of various aspects of its protocol by renowned blockchain security auditing firm Trail of Bits. This audit specifically involved a review of Bribe’s Voter Extractable Value (VEV) tool and the Aave Bribe Pool. This audit, alongside a peer review by Mudit Gupta, helps fulfill Bribe’s goal of providing best-in-class cross-chain decentralized governance tooling, which necessitates delivering a secure and useful platform for its users.

What did this audit involve?

Trail of Bits performed an audit of Bribe’s Ethereum smart contract code to answer questions:

  • Is it possible for participants to steal or lose tokens?
  • Could flash loans be used to exploit the protocol?
  • Are rewards properly calculated and distributed to users?

Once Trail of Bits had reviewed the code, the firm made suggestions on addressing any points of weakness, which we have taken steps to remediate.

Where are the results of this audit posted?

In alignment with its mission of maintaining transparency and optimally catering to its users, Bribe is publishing the results of the Trail of Bits audit; details of the audit’s findings and recommendations, along with any subsequent implementations, can be found at GitHub.

About Trail of Bits

Trail of Bits is an industry-leading cybersecurity auditing firm that has worked to secure some of the most prominent and highly targeted software products and technology organizations. The firm specializes in blockchain technology, an industry that is frequently targeted by hackers and other ill-intentioned actors despite its overall security.

Trail of Bits audits blockchain code with its signature method that combines top-quality research in the cybersecurity field with the approaches of a real-world hacker. This allows Trail of Bits to assess a codebase’s resiliency against even highly sophisticated hacking strategies. Once Trail of Bits has reviewed a smart contract, it identifies any code weaknesses and provides suggestions.

Following this audit, Bribe will continue to work towards its goal of revolutionizing DAO governance by incentivizing participation, particularly through development of new Bribe Pools and cross-chain governance tooling. Additional components will also undergo security audits to ensure that users of the Bribe solution will be well protected.

About Bribe

Bribe creates DAO infrastructure tooling to incentivize protocol participation. Depositors stake their governance tokens in the Bribe pool to earn income. Bidders borrow the staked votes to support or reject governance proposals. Bribe V1 introduces Voter Extractable Value (VEV) to coordinate and auction powerful coalitions of DAO votes. Bribe is best used as part of a well-balanced and active delegation strategy.
