Our new Chairman and £4.7m fundraise

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Oren Peleg as Chairman along with the successful completion of our Series A fundraise.

1. Ex-Countrywide Chairman joins Bricklane

Oren was previously Managing Director at Oaktree Capital Management (a large private equity investor with over £100bn assets under management) and brings a wealth of experience to Bricklane.

While at Oaktree, Oren chaired UK property group Countrywide during its transformation ahead of its IPO. This transformation has subsequently become the subject of a Harvard Business School case study.

Oren was also instrumental in the setup of several real estate, lending and wealth management platforms and spent five years as Chairman and then global CEO of Fitness First, leading the successful turnaround of the fitness group.

Oren said: “I’m really excited to be joining Bricklane at this inflection point in the business’ and sector’s trajectory. Recent legislative changes have made it more challenging for individuals to be buy-to-let landlords but there is ongoing demand growth for quality rental stock by tenants, which makes it great timing for providing flexible, efficient investment solutions to both institutions and individuals.”

2. Bricklane raises £4.7m in funding

We have also recently closed our Series A funding round, which was led by some of Europe’s leading proptech venture firms, A/O Proptech and DMG Ventures, and included investment from LocalGlobe, Form Ventures, and US fintech investor Clocktower Technology Ventures.

This new capital will be used to drive scale in the business, enabling us to expand our range of innovative property investment products, while continuing to improve customer experience. Alongside this, we will be able to further develop the capabilities of Compass, our proprietary data analytics platform.
