A Birthday Trip To The LEGO Store As An Adult

Whether you are someone who wants all of the attention or none of it on your birthday, you are looking for something to do. And unfortunately, in today’s day and age, it seems to be harder and harder to find fun celebration/ birthday things to do that aren’t going to the bar or going on a brew bus of some kind.

As a LEGO fan, my fiance offered to take me to the newly opened LEGO Store in the mall about half an hour away. He knows I’ve been wanting to go for months, just to check it out. What is this mythical land of a store totally devoted to the bricks we love? Would they do anything for an Adult Fan of LEGO (AFOL) on their birthday?

The LEGO Store Experience

So, I got too excited to take photos inside the store, but you can find some examples on their Yelp page. It was a little small (I think all of us would love a department store-sized LEGO store), but they filled the space well with the walls covered in LEGO sets and examples pre-built.

Browsing through all of the amazing sets at my fingertips was a unique experience as usually I’ve just sifted through what Barnes&Noble, Target, or Wal-Mart have. All of the big licenses were there including Disney, Star Wars, Nintendo, Minecraft, and…
